The Steering Committee established to help organize the Downtown Troy Business Improvement District announced today that the first Annual Meeting of the BID will be held on May 20^th, 2010, at 8:00am at Christ Church, located at 35 State Street in Downtown Troy. The meeting will also be streamed live on-line at http://www.ustream.tv/channel/downtown-troy-business-improvement-district-annual-meeting.

The Steering Committee is made up of Mayor Harry Tutunjian, City Council President Clement Campana, City Comptroller Deb Witkowski, Jeff Pfeil, Wally Altes, Lauren Groff and Elizabeth Young.

The main agenda item for the Annual Meeting will be to vote on a slate of candidates for the BID Board of Directors. The BID Steering Committee will nominate 9 property owners and 3 business tenants for the Board ballot. Those not selected by the Committee who would like to be on the ballot can fill out a petition available at City Hall, the offices of the Downtown Collaborative (TDC) at 266 River Street, or on-line at www.troybid.org. Petitions must be received at the offices of the TDC by April 30^th.

Official notice of the meeting, as well as ballot forms will be mailed out to property owners and commercial tenants within the District the first week of May. Voting for the first BID Board will be accepted both in person at the Annual Meeting, and via mail.
